“The Church loves everyone, including gays and lesbians.” While the church theoretically loves everyone, many individuals do not follow this. I have heard people talking about how terrible and revolting gays are in church, and I’ve heard stories of people being criticized by priests and such for being who they are. Now, this is not the church’s fault itself, but there are reasons homosexuals feel attacked by religion. I think the Church needs to take a more active stance on the subject.

I think it does. Do I think the Church could do more for the gay community? Yes, I do. But the Church’s focus should be on loving everybody and especially the poor, whether gay or not.

Jesus said love everybody.

He didn’t need to break it down by categories, and I think that’s why the Church shouldn’t feel the need to either.
