While I can see where you are coming from with the predisposition toward homosexual acts, I find your statements likening it to alcoholism and lying rather offensive. That is saying that homosexuality is a disorder, and therefore implying that it can be treated, which is an idea that I absolutely reject. It is not a disorder, gays are not sick, and there is nothing dangerous about who they are.

Well, coming from the standpoint that homosexuality is a deviation from the norm, Catholic doctrine does hold homosexuality to be intrinsically disordered. However, Catholic doctrine also holds that all homosexuals are to be loved and supported like any other member of our community because they are no different than any other member of the community.

While, I don’t think it can be ‘treated,’ I think someone can have a choice. If they don’t like being gay, or don’t want to be gay, I think it would be wrong to force them into that lifestyle just because that is the way they were born.
